Faculty Recruitment

The University of Cincinnati, as part of its Cardiovascular Initiative, is seeking mid- to senior-level scientists (M.D., Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.) who have strong and competitive cardiovascular research programs. The University intends to supplement its already prominent cardiovascular group, which includes expertise in cell signaling, gene regulation, calcium handling, molecular basis of cardiovascular disease, stem cell therapy and developmental biology. Secondary and joint appointments are feasible. Candidates with expertise including, but not limited to, the areas of stem cell and regenerative biology, translational research, molecular cardiovascular biology and signaling, and who would synergize with existing investigators, are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have a strong record of scholarly accomplishment and should be able to work in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. In addition to a generous recruitment package, an endowed chair is also available. Successful candidates will be expected to maintain an innovative, externally funded research program, contribute to graduate and medical student teaching and training of fellows, and participate in clinical activities (for M.D. candidates).

Our aim is to recruit a prominent senior and a mid-career outstanding faculty member in Cardiopulmonary research. These scientists will enhance our strengths in the basic science and clinical arenas with the long-range goal of conquering Cardiopulmonary disorders by translating and commercializing our discoveries into solutions for these deadly diseases. Our goals include conversion of current research into products (therapeutics) and further development of research in other areas, including stem cell biology, such that clinicians in Ohio can provide the best care to their patients.
